We had our reception at MCCC which we had reserved almost a year in advance. When we reserved the facility, we were promised cooperation and an easy working relationship. The lady who showed us around was very nice and friendly. The place seemed to be in nice working condition and looked well kept. Fast forward 9mths later, and when I needed to take service vendors in for a look see, all the sudden it was difficult to get access to the place. I was told it 'wasn't usually done' and was given the run around so that I had to reschedule some appts that had been made. No one I spoke with on the phone was very nice or friendly anymore now that they had been 'paid'. When I finally was able to go over, wow, were we surprised. The carpet was stained, the wallpaper was torn, and the whole place just looked ragged and rough. There was chipped paint all around, staples in the walls, and scuff marks on the walls. When I mentioned this to the front office, they were totally unresponsive except to act like I was being picky and they only paint if they absolutely have to. I had previously been told when I was looking to reserve that the place was kept immaculate like their home. I found that to be totally FALSE since now that our event was close, the building was very shabby and looked like it had been used hard. Since the reception was so close, there was nothing to do but report our experience and hope the bride, groom and guests didn't notice the wear and tear. I'm sure they did, since it was obvious for all to see. Its too bad, since the exteriors are very pretty...but the inside could definitely use some updates, and no one seems to care. A bit of paint, a change in color decor and some elbow grease would go a long way. But your complaints will fall on deaf ears. Its too bad, it has potential, but if you have more money to spend, you will be happier having your event somewhere else where they act like they care about any kind of customer satisfaction.
