Business DescriptionGuitarist Doug Pauly appears through- out Northern California both as a leader and sideman in concert and for private and corporate events. He currently performs with and arranges for Habañero, a Latin music ensemble; Big Guitars, a swing & bebop quartet with Charlie Baty of “Little Charlie and the Nightcats” and performs under his own name in solo, duo, trio, quartet and quintet configurations. Doug and vocalist Meleva Steiert recently released their first CD of standards and original tunes. Visit their website to hear samples from their album Two for the Road. He has released two recordings of solo guitar, featuring his own arrangements of popular music ranging from George Gershwin to Jimi Hendrix. In 2003, The Doug Pauly Trio released their first CD, Radiowave, featuring jazzy interpretations of popular music from the past 35 years, arranged for vibraphone, guitar and bass. The Doug Pauly Quartet released a CD of original compositions in 1997 entitled into the wood... The Habañero Quintet's live performance CD of classic cuban son, Habañero Live, debuted in spring 2004. Doug's most recent recording released in the fall of 2008 is "Soundz" a trio of guitar, upright bass and drums featuring latin and popular music. An enthusiastic and knowledgable educator, Doug teaches privately at The Guitar Workshop in Sacramento, California. As a musical contractor I provide services that include solo guitar in jazz, popular, latin and classical styles. I regularly contract solo guitar, duos, trios,quartets and quintets in jazz, latin and popular styles. The most common including combinations of guitar, vocalist, sax/flute, bass,vibraphone, piano and drums. For weddings the most common ensembles provided include solo guitar, guitar and vocalist (very popular for ceremonies) or guitar and woodwind (flute or sax) As a contractedmusician I have been hired to work with Connie Francis, Bobby Rydell, Frankie Avalon, Peter Noonan (Hermans Hermits),Buddy Wachter (The Paganini of the Banjo) The Three Phantoms, (touring Broadway review), The Modesto Symphony, The Sacramento Symphony. The Best of Broadway and many other professional touring shows. |
