alison established bates photographic after returning to Detroit from graduate school. Wedding Photography has always been the primary passion of the bates photographic crew; As alison thoroughly enjoys developing close relationships with her engaged friends, bringing their light and happiness to the images she captures.

alison's photographs have been featured in Brides Michigan, Style, Metro Detroit Bride, and Inside Weddings magazines. She also continually studies the art and craft of the photographic image with photography masters, and she has been delighted to have worked/ studied with some of her photography heroes (Larry Crandall, Jose Villa, Dennis Orchard, Jesh De Rox). All of these experiences have been amazing and priceless (thank you).

In 2008, alison launched into international availability, traveling to California, Colorado, and Aruba for out-of-state and destination weddings- a lot of FUN!!

We do our very best to not only purchase recyclable products, but we also strive to purchase products made from post-consumer recycled and organic materials.  We actively recycle in our studio and our homes.  We re-use materials as fitting, including shipping boxes from our vendors, and we offer credits for the return of re-usable materials.  We are a member of Greener Photography.
