Brian Bohannon is an acclaimed freelance photojournalist based in Louisville, Kentucky. Chances are, you've already seen Brian's iconic image from the 134th Kentucky Derby. After learning that the filly Eight Belles had gone down from two broken ankles, Brian captured several poignant images for the Associated Press that were later transmitted around the world in newspapers, websites and television broadcasts. The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Time Magazine and Sports Illustrated are just a few of the publications that used his photos.

Brian began chasing the perfect image at Western Kentucky University, where he studied photojournalism. Today, he divides his time working as a stringer for various news organization and doing public relations work for numerous private clients. But whether the client is USA Today or a blushing new bride, Brian's goal is the same -- capturing a timeless image.
