Here are just some of the raves we heard about Dia Rao Photography:
“Dia has the best personality to deal with such a crazy day in your life—she is mellow and sweet. Our pictures were so intimate; looking at them, you almost feel like you are there again.”
“Dia’s very organized, professional and definitely easy to work with. Neither of us like to have our pictures taken so we let Dia know that she would have to take pictures without us knowing it. She said she loved that. When I was planning my wedding I would always only see pictures of beautiful brides that were tall and thin, so I was little nervous being a plus-size woman that my pictures would not be as amazing. I was wrong. She is so friendly and kind—you know you can trust her to make the right decisions.”
“She made the entire wedding photography experience fun. She is the utmost professional but at the same time she feels like a friend you’ve know forever. We have already recommended Dia to two other recently engaged friends. She and her work demonstrate elegance, beauty, and a commitment and passion to what she does.”
“Dia was careful to capture every important moment while still taking into consideration the videographers and other guests. Her professionalism and follow-up before, during and after the event were exceptional.”
“Dia has balanced a very difficult business of combining amazing photographs with customer service: providing comprehensive contracts, providing stellar service the day of the event, managing the bride and all the photographs and also working exceptionally well with the coordinator and keeping a low profile. She is flexible, talented, low-key and provides an excellent product.”
A native of upstate New York, Dia Rao studied photography at the highly regarded Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara where she gained a thorough grasp of both the technical and creative elements of photography and interned with a top photographer.
Dia Rao works entirely in digital in a style that she describes as a blend of photojournalistic and traditional, contemporary and vintage.
Dia designs custom packages, so for example, you choose whether you want an engagement session or not. Likewise the amount of time, if any, in traditional portraits is up to you—Dia also orchestrates less traditional, lively group photos.
All images are provided on disc or download, plus Dia has convenient online viewing and ordering for you and your guests. Additionally, she offers three types of albums:
• Coffee table book
Dia designs each page from scratch, artistically displaying a collection of your best images in this unique, contemporary, magazine-style album format. This hardback coffee table book comes with a matching dust jacket and slipcase and is available in matching purse and soft cover options.
• Traditional matted album
Individually printed photographs are matted on thick double-sided pages in this handcrafted, sophisticated leather album.
• Flush mounted album
One to twenty images may be printed on each heavyweight photographic page of a flush-mounted album. These hardbound albums come in keepsake boxes and have the look and feel of coffee table books mixed with the sturdiness of traditional albums. Covers may be silk, leather or brushed aluminum.
