Business DescriptionI'm a sucker for love, a goofball and completely willing to make a fool of myself for your entertainment. I've been shooting for over 10 years, starting with promotional portraits of musicians and live shows for Seattle venues the Crocodile and the Showbox, where my framed image of Karen O. eating her microphone still hangs. At one point I put down the camera and picked up the bass, playing with the all-female lineup of the Catch. I'm much better with the camera. I still play music every now and then, most recently singing harmonies and playing random noisemakers when needed with Night Canopy. At some point every photographer is asked to shoot a friend's wedding. In mid September, 2001 I offered to cover the wedding of a friend whose photographer was grounded in another state. I LOVED it. The pace, emotion and unpredictability was similar to a rock show yet my gear was free of sweat and spit and I came home with considerably less bruises. Added bonus is that people honestly appreciate your work. I've never had anyone cry over one of my Sleater-Kinney images. I'm active in a number of professional associations, including the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) and the Digital Wedding Forum (DWF). My wedding coverage has placed in PDN's Top Knots: New School of Wedding Photography, the WPJA's annual contests and the annual Wed Comp International Photo Competition. These days I live in North Seattle with my sweet husband Robin and chocolate muffin monster puppies, Luka and Simone. |
