I had the wedding of my dreams at the Cabarrus Arena & Event Center. Working with Patsy (Event Coordinator) and Barry (Food & Beverage Manager) was a pleasure! The first time we met with Patsy she stated "I do weddings all the time but I only have one chance to do YOUR wedding" and she made sure that our wedding was exactly what we wanted! Vaule: We live in Charlotte, NC and we visited several other venues in the city but none came close to the value that we found at the Arena. Our only concern with the Arena was the location. It's a little far from the city, but once we looked at the money aspect, the distance didn't look so far. We had our ceremony in the Atrium of the Arena and our reception in the Cabarrus Rooms and were also allowed to use the Patio off the Cabarrus Rooms. We feel that we got more for our dollar at the Arena than any other place that we looked. To put it in perspective; the total cost of our wedding (facility for ceremony and reception, food, photographer, favors, decor, etc) was cheaper than just the rental and food at almost all of the other venues that we looked at. The food was AMAZING and was also consideribly less than what other vendors were charging. Choosing to have our wedding at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center was truly the best financial decision that we made when planning our wedding. Professionalism: The Cabarrus Arena & Event Center has the best customer service that we have seen in a LONG LONG time. We were much more than a customer, each time we met with the staff (especially Patsy & Barry) we were greeted as if we were their best friends. Each aspect of planning our wedding with the Cabarrus Arena was a breeze. Patsy and Barry were upfront and honest about all that they could and could not do for us. They went out of their way to try and accomodate our every need. There were no hidden costs or tiny fine print in our contract. We were very pleased with the amount of professionalism that was displayed by the staff at the Cabarrus Arena and Event Center. Responsiveness: We often made a joke with Patsy and Barry that they slept in their office because of their quick responses to our emails and phone calls. We worked with the Arena for a year planning our wedding and not once did we ever have a problem with getting a response from them. They set the bar so high for our other vendors and honestly made us realize how we should have been treated with our other vendors (such as our photographer and our host hotel). The day of our wedding we didn't have to really ask for anything because if we needed it, it was there. Little things like the fact that my glass was never empty at the reception all show the responsiveness of the staff at the Arena. They met our needs and the needs that were anticipated. Flexibility: Typically when meeting with other facilities prior to choosing the Arena, the first thing the event coordinator would do was begin telling us how weddings are done at their facility. When we met with Patsy she asked us "What can we help you with" She let us know what rooms were available and how much they cost and then she LISTENED to our needs and wants and we went from there. The Cabarrus Arena and Events Center is very flexiblie and allows you the freedom to have the wedding of YOUR dreams not the cookie cutter wedding of a particular facility. We had complete freedom to do what we wanted to do at the facility. The staff was also flexible enough to met with us in the evening. We found that a lot of other vendors that we used were very rigid in meeting during the week and between the normal business hours and we not considerate of the fact that both my fiance and I work during normal business hours. Patsy and Barry always said to us "what time is good for you?". The arena also allowed us access to the rooms the day before the wedding for setup and rehearsal, as well as allowed us access all day the day of the wedding. We found that most places gave you six hours and would charge you $100 for each additional hour beyond that. Needless to say Cabarrus Arena & Event Center was great to work with! I can't begin to put in words all of the appreciation that I have for the staff at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center. It is truly a wonderful venue!
