Business DescriptionYour event will be an historic occasion at the History Center, located in the heart of downtown Fort Wayne! Built in 1893, the former city hall of Fort Wayne is a beautiful example of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture. As a museum and a historic building, the History Center has a unique character of its own for you and your guests to explore. The centerpiece of the museum, the Shields Room, is the former Old City Council Chambers and Courtroom. An extensive 2009 architectural renovation has restored its early 20th century Victorian beauty. Oak paneling, rich colors and 24kt gold-leaf stencils highlight the ornate 22-foot tin ceiling and expansive city views. Your guests may ascend the impressive Grand Staircase to the second floor entrance or use the convenient elevator. The Shields Room has a banquet seating capacity of 160 guests and 200 guests for cocktail/hors d’oeuvres receptions. A smaller room is also available for more intimate events, and a board room is available for your business meetings or smaller gatherings. Call or email us for more information or to make a reservation. |
