Business Description

“The historic Magnolia Hill estate welcomes you and your guests for you dream come true wedding”

For a day most unforgettable, let us share our inspirational setting for your special event with Horse and Carriage, White Dove release and end the reception with Fireworks and our "Elegant Exit".

For years you knew us as Alda's Forever and Alda's Sentimental Living, We helped retailers and brides all across the country get ready for the big day as we love gracious entertaining. Now we can be your venue! Right in the heart of Little Rock, countryside retreat is ready to take your breath away. Offering our own horse drawn carriage, Magnolia Hill sits on thirty one acres of secluded countryside that includes a three acre lake, rolling lawns, hundred year old oak trees, magnolia trees, fountains, ducks, geese and the most modern conveniences. Magnolia Hill was built in 1918, and is petitioned for National Landmark of Historic Places. At the turn of the century, it was a day’s carriage ride to downtown Little Rock. Today, the warmth of this home is a most convenient place for your wedding, reception, corporate retreat or rehearsal dinner. Magnolia Hill has been returned to its turn of the century charm by its current owners, Alda and Buddy Ellis...and we still offer carriage rides! Let us help you—we have more than 18 years experience making weddings and unions very personal and special. We have popular package plans or you tell us what you want and we'll make it happen —stress free for you! All you need to do is pick a date, give us your requests and you are done! Just come and relax!

If you have ever dreamed of a wedding in an outdoor garden setting, then we suggest our rolling lawn. It may be tented, to assure a comfortable setting. Two grand old Magnolia trees stand tall on the front lawn for a front porch wedding. Or maybe the lake is a gorgeous backdrop for your perfect wedding. In the evening, lights sparkle through the out stretched oak trees that surround the wedding party. The wedding garden is enchanting with luscious green ferns, impatiens, and azaleas. Evening weddings are charmingly romantic with the lighting and votive candles along the garden patio wall.

Call us to book your date!

Make your special day a memorable one in a unique and natural atmosphere along side the lake and mountain backdrop , in our scenic garden, at poolside, or in our wedding white horsedrawn carriage. All you need to do is tell us what you want, choose from our variety of packages, and bask in the romance of it all. We’ll take the stress out of it for you. We have several favorite packages to choose from or we can customize your occasion with personal touches and special arrangements. Every wedding is as unique as the bride and groom who are planning their special day. The Magnolia Hill Estate recognizes this, which is why we believe in customizing a package to fit the bride and grooms needs. For a most romantic country feeling right in the city, here’s a sample of our packages:

Romance By the Lake The romantic “By the Lake” setting offers a breathtaking shady and private view of the lake. The bride is presented via horse drawn carriage to the ceremony at the waters edge. Here the bride makes a grand entrance for she is carried with a guest (father of the bride) around the lake to be seen by the guests seated in attendance. Off in the distance, the carriage is seen through the trees as the groom and wedding party awaits. The carriage stops underneath the oak tree for the bride to walk down an aisle toward the water. Guests are seated on either side of aisle or pathway. No need to rent chairs here, for hay bales topped with a white cloth serve as seating in this all natural setting. This lakeside setting seats up to 300 as guests enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and “romance by the lake”. The ceremony ends with our White Dove Release. After the ceremony, the couple is picked up via horse drawn carriage and carried around the lake as guests slowly make their way to the reception area. The reception ends with Fireworks and our Elegant Exit as an option.

The Brides Dressing Room is a large bedroom with soaring ceiling, looking out over the lake complete with wood burning fireplace and cozy seating. The” Grooms Quarters” is a separate building, complete with big screen TV full bath, and pool table.
