Business Description
Set amid the rich historical backdrop of the 210 year-old plantation home and the site's ancient magnolias, Travellers Rest offers a distinctive location for couples to begin their life together or to celebrate any special occasion. Wedding ceremonies, receptions or special events may be held in our intimate formal garden or the rustic warmth of our reproduction corn crib barn, the Overton Education Center. The beautiful grounds surrounding the barn and plantation home can accommodate up to 300 guests outdoors, beneath the grand old magnolias. The historic home itself, including the gallery porch, is not available for rentals, but is a lovely backdrop for any type of outdoor event.
Our 1830’s Barn, with a Tennessee limestone fireplace as its focal point, was designed with receptions in mind. Built in 1997, the Barn will accommodate 125-150 guests and includes a full service kitchen your caterer will enjoy. The décor is wonderfully simple with clean lines, white walls, boxed columns and a clerestory - perfect for whatever decorations you choose. New large restrooms are also located in the Barn and, of course, this building is handicapped-accessible.
