Business Descriptionperfect for any event... nestled by mission san juan capistrano... El Adobe de Capistrano offers an amazing wedding and reception location in San Juan Capistrano, Orange County, Southern California. The restaurant site has been recognized as a California State Historical Landmark uniting the Miguel Yorba Adobe (1797), with the Juzgado (court & jail), established in 1812. The walls forming El Adobe's Cantina were part of the original Miguel Yorba Adobe. The wine cellar is housed in the original Carcel (jail) cell. The ground beneath the foyer served as a passageway for Seeley & Wright stagecoaches, until the advent to the Santa Fe Railroad in 1888. In 1910, Georgia Mott Vander-Leck bought and unified the properties. Thirty-six years later she sold it to a visionary Rancho Mission Viejo farmer, Mr. Clarence Brown. Brown built the El Adobe restaurant, which opened auspiciously on July 8, 1948 with the wedding and reception of the First Commandant of Camp Pendleton, General Fagan. Yearly, hundreds of couples continue the tradition as they marry in the garden-nestled Wedding Chapel and celebrate in the adjacent Palenque Room. The Palenque Room is the most popular setting for wedding receptions. This open atrium-like room offers a skylight ceiling that slides open to the sky. The room features its own antiqued wood bar. Floor to ceiling windows view the adjoining garden area along the southern wall. Terra cotta tile pavers make any space in the room a potential dance floor. The private Garden and Chapel area offers the perfect setting for a wedding ceremony or an outdoor barbecue. The Portola Room seats up to 48 and is the perfect for rehearsal dinners. The semi-private Las Flores Room seats up to 60 for less intimate events. The Carcel is San Juan Capistrano's original jail cell, now converted to a wine cellar and private dining room for up to 8 guests. The staff at El Adobe de Capistrano is attentive and professional. The menus feature many authentic and historic Mexican-Californian specialties as well as steaks and seafood from our new mesquite grill. Specialty decor can be arranged to personalize your event with that special touch. |
